and right and up and down. Some friends of mine have a company and they had a party because the company was 10 years old. They asked me to take some photos and here is a little snap shot. They had it in the palm house at sefton park here in liverpool which is this exceptionally elegant victorian greenhouse. It is just stunning. 

it was great, a really lovely location, a bit of a challenge from a lighting point of view but i loved every minute of it. cheers guys

ten on tuesday...

1. Ben has a new baby...

and no i don't feel put out. Finally..he got a bike that he can enjoy riding to work. He knows he is a bike snob, we all know it. But its okay...

2. Ex-squeeze me...but it is actually only six weeks till christmas. Yup..just saying tis all. ;)

3. whilst on the subject of christmas i got my christmas hours this week and i think i got the short straw. Christmas day 5pm-10pm and New years eve night. Woohoo...going to be rock and rollin' the party season working those shifts. Hey ho..

4. So you think Cadbury should sell to Kraft? we took the kids to cadbury world in Bournville and i have to say i hated it, stress, high prices, too much chocolate (yes that is possible!) and Poppy threw up all over my dry clean only wool coat. Etched on my memory and in the fibres of my coat ;)

5. Last week i was in work every day except Friday. study days and normal shifts. Felt a little bit like this..

6. Have rediscovered this guy. Go have a listen. A few years ago we both thought he was awesome and then Isaac developed a passion for listening to his CD and after a million times we were always like 'Not jamie again'   But i really like this new song of his and to be fair he was always good. God love him. and er..not sure who the scarecrow looking guy is at the end of the youtube vid but oh.my. 'he likes to play' (name that movie?)

7. Last night we had no bed dwellers...we have been having a few recently..but last night not one...no-one till 6.30am. Which is good.

9. Stumbled across this photo in iphoto just now. This is my God-daughter almost exactly 2 years ago. Isnt she just gorgeous. Hey guys! if you are reading be good to see you :)

and nope this is not one of my babies. This is in fact the sister of the little girl in the above picture at probably just a few weeks old. Just too.damm.cute.

His name is...

only took a couple of goes with me using my knees as a tripod so still a bit of camera shake. But getting the tripod up and sorted when there are four over excited kids around can seem a bit of a faff. So i lent hard against the door frame and used my bent knees to support my elbows...

We had a good firework night. Great fun to celebrate the burning at the stake of a couple of people huh!!

so anyway..we went to some friends for hot dogs and fireworks, the kids had a great time...

and couldnt resist this cute girl eyeing up the cake ;)

we came home, did jammies and hot milk and watched some of the displays from our bedroom window. perfick :)

November...

Must try harder to update more often...i feel bad. I love my blog, i think of it so often with all sorts of 'oh that would be a good idea to write about' and as with so many things it never materialises past the 'thought' stage and into the 'action' stage. *sigh* i think there are people who make lots of money out of helping people nudge through the 'thought' stage and onwards....i think in my case someone like that would probably be called 'a cleaner, housekeeper, cook..etc..'

the hair bear bunch...no brushes were hurt (or in fact used) in the making of this shot...

you might notice a faint watermark on the pictures, im just practicing at the moment. Im hoping to start a little photography, mainly portraits etc in the new year and am just playing with the pics in lightroom at the moment but mostly im doing it because i keep getting a lot of referrals from google images, people searching for pictures of babies, kids etc and ending up here. Which if you think about it too much can be very creepy *shudder* but i dont, so im protecting my pictures and also my family is the way im looking at it. I have so much more to say but i am relocating to a horizontal position and shall be examining by eyelids for hopefully 7 ish hours. Wish me luck.

no...

its the bad one....thats if you have kids...little ones that is.

The clock change..spring forward...fall back..even though you actually loose an hour in the spring, the kids are up later so its a psychological thing but it 'seems' better. 'Heck yeah...kids slept in till 8am..was brilliant' Today we had 5.45am (which was in fact 645 in old money) but it felt so so so wrong.....

that was after little Matilda had coughed herself awake at 3am and so was hanging with us and getting pretty chipper about being up and about early...gah...

BUT...spare a moment for my buddies at work who had to watch the clock go back an hour overnight. I mean we have all been there at work  when it feels like time is going backwards but when it actually does? That has got to suck the will to live from your tired bones....

So this morning...me and the kids watched the sunrise...Ben had decamped to Isaac's bed.....so, i think, got the benefit of the 'extra hour' in bed. Well at least one of us did...

and on the up side..half term from tomorrow...woohoo...

Isaac

my baby boy turned 7 last week. 7 seems such a big age..it also looks very strange as a big helium balloon too. ha!

But he is 7. I can't even begin to tell you how much we love this kid. He is our pioneer and we think he is the best. 

• At seven you are
• Confident around adults. You amaze me with your front when it come to talking to grown ups. Just march right up and ask them a question dude.. 
• Still love your trains. Can't see that one coming to an end any time soon 
• So focused..on whatever is getting you fired up at that moment, dog with a bone, cant put it down until you have touched, looked, read, watched or pushed it! 
• Coming to terms with your girls..those lovely sisters of yours. You told me the other day that you think they are all pretty cool.  
• Love to sing. Pretty much anything that gets into your head. 
• Loves knock knock jokes..or any sort of joke really..we get to practice laughing at the same joke over and over.....
• Loves cars. you like the petrol head type cars, like your daddy. 
• Favourite thing to do is ride your bike. You have surely got this one from your dad. A fact i said to you recently and it practically lit up your face. You love your bike, you ride it well with confidence  and care. Two wheels are better than walking whenever.  
• Reading comes easily and naturally to you. You storm through your reading books. You read the titles on cbeebies out to your sisters. They both ask you all the time to read to them. Very cool. 
• You are deep. We work hard to understand you and try to help you see things in a way other than your own. So single minded, so intent on what you want to do. Your mind is speeding along all the time.
• You have never ever lost your wonderlust. ever ever ever..you sometimes, even now, remind me of your toddler days when you just couldn't not explore a new place regardless if that meant being away from all you knew.... Its not as heart stopping as when you were little but can still be frightening when you suddenly disappear.  
• Dont worry about those teeth dude. They will fall out in their own good time. 
• Only instrument you are interested in is the drums. i think its more about the amount of noise you can make personally... 
•  You have to work very very hard at coping with not winning. Its a constant challenge for you to accept not coming first. Remember your greatest moment is not when you fail but when you get up and try again after every time you might fail.

 You are a regular little boy who finds farts funny and smiles when Matilda blows raspberries or when something falls on the floor.  In our family you are right up there at the top of the run of kids and I realise that sometimes that can be a hard place to be. But you are up for the job buddy. We have every confidence in you and believe in you. You are a fun kid to have around. A little bit sensible but delightfully silly at times too. Happy Birthday to our Isaac. You are a gift.

         

40....

my brother turned 40 on the same day that Isaac turned 7....i do have a 7 years birthday post for Isaac coming up BUT until Isaac showed up the 12th of this month has always been my brother's day in our family and this year it was the big four zero....incidently..i think always a bad idea to think  "Wouldnt it be lovely if my sister/friend/brother/cousin would have their baby on your birthday.' here why....

1. you have to share your family birthday...and really no-one wants, or in fact probably should have, to do that...and

2. The person whose baby was born on your birthday will forever either be forgetting your birthday or it will be a faint after thought some where through a mad crazy day of birthday plans for their child....

but i digress.....

We all clubbed together and got my brother some prints..Canvas prints..of some pics i took of their newborn babba back in the summer. They came out pretty well i thought.

9 months...

that month has bolted by quicker than ever....everything has sped up. I guess factoring in 17 hours of work into my already 24 hour a day workload was going to be a bit tricky. But I am back to work, no longer on maternity leave and pulling my weekly all nighter....yay!...not.

But meanwhile 9 months......

• Your siblings are calling you Matildie...im not that sure about it..you dont seem to care
• They pick you up under your arms and swing you like a cat. Almost stops my heart but you seem to love it 
• We think that there may be a few 'da da' coming out now.  
• You shout. I mean just seemingly for the fun of it. 'what you mean if i yell as hard as i can everyone looks at me?' Grreat! 
• You love broccoli... 
• No one gets a smile out of you like your brother. Your roomie. 
• Nursing is getting a bit boring now and there is always something better to look at. Which is fine but can be touch embarassing for poor old mum. 
• The toy that always lights up your face is a plastic ice cream scoop from the kids play food set.  
• You bounce your bed like you are on a bungee cord. Maybe time for the cot soon... 
• Not so bothered about crawling, rolling or any other such movement thanks ever so. We are okay with that. 
•  I have moved you into the next stage car seat, which im not really okay with to tell you the truth...want to keep you in the baby seat for a little. bit. longer. Watching you try and take in all the stuff you can now see out the car window is cute tho..
• You have sharp finger nails...you rarely scratch your face but this week alone you have done it three times. Little knife sharp nails grow at such a rate ..im always surprised..why dont baby toe nails grow at the same speed? huh? i was just wondering...? 
• You have learnt how much fun it is to hold your breath...yeah your face goes bright red..people smile at you...we all get it..now please stop it.... 

•  Today you fell asleep in the car and i carried you around the supermarket in the baby bjorn but in the facing inwards way. You are still my wee baby girl.
